AUTUMNAL CLOVELLY

WARNING: another Clovelly post :)

Autumn in Clovelly is one of my favourite times of year and I was lucky enough to spend a few days in the village with family again during this week. Having never been fishing for herring before, or experienced small scale drift nets in use, it was time to get out on the water. I only took my iPhone for the herring as we left early in the morning and it was still dark, later that day we went out to collect lobster pots & I took my camera along then. Here are a mixture of iPhone shots & my camera from my time on the boat. The lobster with her eggs is known as a berried hen and was put back in the water in order to keep the cycle going of sustainable fishing in Clovelly, it was a truly lovely moment to photograph the marvellous creature before letting her slink away back to the safety of the ocean. Also, the cute little fish saying hello was caught in a pot and we put that one back too. All in all it was a lovely boaty trip, apart from the sea lumps known as waves I'm not used to, thank-you Stephen for putting up with me being a whimp :)

CLOVELLY

Over the bank holiday weekend I ventured to a little fishing village known as Clovelly on the coast of North Devon, to visit family. I had to take my camera along as there are so many great photo opportunities to take advantage of. My work centred on Clovelly is very personal and a project I've been working on for a while now, with the hope of completing the book I am making from the series. Hope you enjoy the post, keep your eyes peeled for another Clovelly post in a few weeks :)

HAY BALES

So for a while now myself and Tara have wanted to do a shoot together, and the hay bales right outside my house were too good not to miss. So we spent a few hours with my lovely friend Amelia, who you'll probably recognise as I've photographed her a few times now. I really enjoyed this shoot, especially the colours and textures of the field, the moody skies made for great photos too.

Here's a little behind the scenes photo :)

BRAMPFORD SPEKE

This week I was lucky enough to experience my first outing with the Macula group. I've known of the group for a while, yet never quite made the leap to attend, that all changed on Tuesday. The plan of action was to go to Brampford Speke, somewhere I've never visited before. There was so many amazing locations tucked away with hardly anyone about, the light was "dreamy" in the words of Robert Darch who is the brains behind the group. It was great fun and I'm hoping to make these Tuesday evenings with the group more of a regular thing. Here are a few photos from around the areas we explored.

BUDLEIGH

I haven't posted in so long! So today I thought that should change, I've still been snapping away when I have the chance, in-between a few other creative projects I'm working on at the moment. I thought it was time to share a few photos from my trip to Budleigh a little while ago, it was so rainy and windy but I loved the results of the photos. The texture of the surroundings and moody colours helped create some great images! I will hopefully be posting a little more in the next few weeks!

DARTMOOR NATIONAL PARK

A little while ago, on my 21st Birthday, I visited Dartmoor National Park! The views were beautiful, the weather was moody but with lovely light peeking through from the afternoon sun. I haven't posted in ages and really wanted to post a few photos of my time on Dartmoor, I'd love to visit again soon as it was beautiful!
